THIS SEASON: Jake DeVine is in his redshirt junior season at USC... Went 16-4 in singles during the fall, reaching the final of the Jack Kramer Collegiate and finishing the fall with his highest career singles ranking at No. 56 in the nation.
2017-18: DeVine went 18-15 overall in singles as a redshirt sophomore, going 10-8 in dual matches... Played at the No. 4 (2-1), No. 5 (1-3) and No. 6 (7-4) positions... In doubles, went 10-6 overall, going 4-2 with Logan Smith, including a run to the final of the SoCal Intercollegiate... Also went 1-1 with Thibault Forget and 5-3 with Mateusz Smolicki... Had the match-clinching singles win vs. Arizona State... In the fall, reached the singles semifinal at the Jack Kramer Collegiate... Earned Pac-12 All-Academic Honorable Mention.
2016-17: DeVine opened his sophomore season with his highest career singles ranking at No. 63 in the nation... Was sidelined by injury in late January after going 8-5 in singles play and 5-1 in doubles... Competed in three dual matches, going 1-1 in singles at the No. 4 spot and going 2-0 with Rob Bellamy at the No. 2 and 3 positions...Won the Sherwood Cup Consolation title in singles and reached the doubles final with Bellamy in mid-January.
2015-16 SEASON: DeVine was named the ITA Southwest Region Rookie of the Year... Earned All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention... Also earned Pac-12 All-Academic Honorable Mention... Finished the season ranked No. 100 in the nation in singles... During the season, ranked highest at No. 83 in singles on Jan. 5, 2016... Went 25-12 overall in singles, going 13-5 in dual matches... Played primarily ad the No. 3 and No. 4 positions... Went 6-2 at No. 3 and 5-3 at No. 4... Also went 1-0 at No. 2 and 1-0 at No. 5... Clinched three matches in singles with wins vs. Florida, Oklahoma and Oregon... In doubles, went 17-16 overall, going 7-8 in dual matches... Was 7-5 overall with Rob Bellamy, going 5-3 in dual matches... Also paired with Logan Smith (3-3), Thibault Forget (3-2), Max de Vroome (2-3), Tanner Smith (1-2) and Nick Crystal (1-1)... In the fall, win the SDSU Fall Invite Flight I singles title and reached the doubles final of the Jack Kramer Classic with Forget.
HIGH SCHOOL: DeVine is 2015 graduate of Laurel Springs Academy... Trained at the USTA Training Center in Boca Raton, Fla., for four years... Reached a No. 1 ranking in the nation in 2013... Reached the singles final at Kalamazoo and won the 2013 title in Carson.
PERSONAL: Jake DeVine was born May 22, 1997 in Seattle, Wash... Parents are John and Laurel... Has one sister, Julia, and two brothers, Luke and Daniel... Mother Laurel swam for Cal and father John played baseball for Navy... Enjoys spending time with family, watching the Seattle Seahawks play and wakeboarding in his free time... Was always wanted to skydive, play in four Grand Slams and raise the 12th Man flag at a Seahawks game... Hopes to pursue a pro tennis career after graduation... Majoring in business.
