THIS SEASON: MacDonell enters his second season of action at USC.
2011: MacDonell scored four goals as a redshirt freshman... First career goals came in a hat trick vs. Pomona-Pitzer on Oct. 1.
2010: MacDonell redshirted his first season at USC.
HIGH SCHOOL: MacDonell was named a fourth team All-American as a senior out of Bellarmine Prep in San Jose... Team won 2009 CCS Division I title... Also earned All-CCS and all-league first team honors as a senior... Received honorable mention as a junior... Played club for Stanford Water Polo.
PERSONAL: MacDonell is majoring in policy, planning and development... Parents are Judi and Alex... Has two brothers, Andrew and Eric, and two sisters, Emily and Audrey... Both brothers have played water polo at LMU... Enjoys going to Minnesota with his family for summer trips in his free time... Lists Michael Phelps as his biggest sports hero... Favorite foods are pasta, salad and bananas... Would like to visit Alaska and Paris some day... Born Oct. 3, 1991.
