THIS SEASON: Daniel Leong enters his second season of competition at USC.
2017: Leong scored 14 goals as a redshirt sophomore... Scored in eight games with four multiple-goal outings... Scored a season-high four goals vs. MIT... An MPSF Scholar-Athlete, also earned ACWPC All-Academic honors.
2016: Leong scored 12 goals as a redshirt freshman... First career goals came in a two-goal effort in USC’s season-opening win over UC Irvine... Set career high with a five-goal game vs. La Verne on Sept. 11... Scored in four total games with three multiple-goal outings... An MPSF Scholar-Athlete, also earned ACWPC All-Academic honors.
2015: Leong redshirted his first season at USC.
HIGH SCHOOL: Leong was named the 2014 Interscholastic League of Honolulu Player of the Year out of Iolani High... Team won back-to-back ILH championships in 2013 and 2014... Was an all-league first team selection in 2013... Played club for Iolani.
PERSONAL: Leong is majoring in communication... Parents are Kelii and Raquel... Has one brother, Tim, who also was on the USC men’s water polo team... His father Kelii and uncle Keona also played water polo at USC... His grandfather Thomas earned his masters degree in anthropology at USC... Enjoys surfing and playing soccer in his free time... Lists Zlatan Ibrahimovic as his biggest sports hero... Hopes to travel to Barcelona... Born March 28, 1997.
