A three-time All-American at USC, Hannes Daube has been named to the U.S. Olympic Team for the 2024 Paris Games This will be his second Olympic Games, as he helped Team USA finish in sixth place at the 2020 Games in Tokyo.
2021: Daube earned All-America First Team honors as a redshirt junior and was named to the NCAA All-Tournament First Team... He four goals in the NCAA semifinal and three in the NCAA final... He was USC’s second leading scorer on the year with 37 goals, having scored in a team-high 19 different games... Second on the team with 12 multiple-goal outings... Named to the All-MPSF Second Team.
2020-21: In a year impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, Daube did not compete for USC in the 2020-21 season in order to compete overseas and train with the U.S. National Team in preparation for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo... Competed in Greece for Olympiacos, scoring 42 goals... Helped Olympiacos win the Greek Super Cup, Greek Cup and A1 Ethniki League Championship... Earned MPSF All-Academic honors.
2019: Daube was USC’s third leading scorer as a sophomore with 36 goals... Earned All-America Second Team and All-MPSF First Team honors... Scored in 17 games with nine multiple-goal outings... Scored a season-high five goals vs. Pacific on Sept. 28... Scored 13 goals vs. top-5 opponents... Scored three goals during the NCAA Tournament, including two goals in the semifinal vs. Stanford.... Earned MPSF All-Academic honors.
2018: Daube was named MPSF Newcomer of the Year and picked up spots on the All-America First Team and All-MPSF First Team... USC’s second leading scorer with 58 goals as a true freshman, topping out with a six-goal outing against Stanford on Oct. 6... Had a hat trick in the NCAA Semifinals and scored once in the NCAA Championship game... Named to NCAA All-Tournament First Team... Scored in 23 different games with 17 multiple-goal outings... Scored 29 goals against top-5 opponents... Scored two goals in USC debut on Sept. 1... A four-time MPSF Player of the Week.
NATIONAL TEAMS: A 2020 Olympian with Team USA, Daube is a member of the U.S. Men’s National Team… Helped USA to bronze at the 2024 World Cup and silver at the 2022 FINA World League Super Final... Has competed for Team USA at four World Championships (2019, 2022, 2023, 2024)... Named to Media All-Star Team after scoring 22 goals at the 2023 World Championships in Fukuoka... Won gold at the 2019 Pan American Games... He scored 13 goals for the USA at both 2019 events... Scored seven goals for Team USA at the 2018 FINA World League Super Finals… Won gold and scored nine goals in the 2018 FINA Intercontinental Tournament... Earned a silver medal at the 2017 FINA Intercontinental Tournament.
HIGH SCHOOL: Daube is a two-time All-CIF First Team selection out of Orange Lutheran High School in Orange, Calif.... Won the CIF Division 1 Championship in 2016… Played club for Northwood Red and Newport Beach.
PERSONAL: Daube earned his USC degree in communication… His sister, Eike Daube also attended USC and was a member of the 2013 NCAA Women’s Water Polo Championship team… Hopes to travel to Fiji, Spain and Greece… Hopes to play professional water polo in Italy and to become a sports analyst after graduating… Born January 5, 2000.
