Bio
THIS SEASON:
Benjamin looks to improve on her lifetime best in the hammer this season while also providing Lange[apos]s throwing group with experienced depth.
2012:
Benjamin had her best season yet as she gradually improved all season long. Hit a lifetime PR at the dual meet on April 29th with a throw of 43.21m (141-8).
2011: Benjamin set a lifetime PR at the Ben Brown Invitational on March 3rd (her birthday) with a throw of 133[apos]3 feet. She continued to add depth to the Trojan throwing force all season.
2010: After transferring from Orange Coast College, Benjamin redshirted her first year at USC
BEFORE USC: Attended Orange Coast College for one year...She took 8th place in the Orange Empire Conference in the Hammer Throw...Also competed in the javelin, long jump and triple jump.
HIGH SCHOOL: Benjamin attended Los Alamitos High School...She competed in the long and triple jumps...Also was the only girl to play on the boy[apos]s football team.
PERSONAL: Benjamin was born March 3,1990 in Long Beach, CA...She is from Rossmoor, CA...Her parents are Jeff and Toddy...She is a graduate student studying Communication Management...She graduated from USC in May 2012 with a degree in Public Relations and a minor in Sports Media Studies... She enjoys wakeboarding, going to Lake Havasu, and spending time with her family and friends...Her favorite actor is Will Ferrell and her favorite movies are Bridesmaids and Anchorman...She was the January 2011 Student-Athlete of the Month and was also nominated as the Female Trojan of the Year in 2011, 2012 and 2013...Benjamin currently serves as the Trojan Athletic Senate President at USC.
