With over seven years of experience as a Division I director of operations, Ashlee Klingenberg now enters her second season at USC under women's basketball head coach Lindsay Gottlieb.
As director of operations at USC, Klingenberg oversees day-to-day women’s basketball program management, including all travel, external relations and community service, equipment, budget management and camps. In addition, she has developed the women’s basketball task force to increase program awareness, ticket sales, exposure and revenue.
Klingenberg comes to Troy following five seasons at UC Santa Barbara, where, in addition to team operations, she oversaw game scheduling, social media, served as the liaison between all university departments and the women’s basketball program, and orchestrated team community service outings.
Klingenberg spent the 2015-16 NCAA season as the director of operations for Doug Oliver at UC Irvine. Prior to that, she was an assistant to then-Seattle University head coach Joan Bonvincini in 2014-15. At Seattle University, she oversaw scheduling, practice plans, film, alumni outreach as well as social media and camps for the Redhawks.
A 2008 San José State graduate, with a degree in business marketing, Klingenberg also spent time as a high school coach and as a product manager in the tech industry.
A native of Bakersfield, Calif., Klingenberg attended Liberty High School, where she was a two-year captain and helped lead her basketball team to three consecutive South Sequoia League Championships. She was named second-team All-SSL in her senior year and honorable mention as a junior.
She would go on to play basketball at Bakersfield Junior College, helping the Renegades to their highest conference finish in five seasons as runner-up in the Western State Conference championship. Klingenberg ranked No. 4 in the South Region in 3-pointers made (63) and No. 23 in points per game (11.2 ppg). Injury cut short her playing career, and she transferred to San José State University in 2005.
