One of the most accomplished NCAA men’s lacrosse players in the history of the sport, Deemer Class is in his third season (2021) as an assistant coach for the Women of Troy.
As a member of the Duke men’s lacrosse program, Class won two NCAA championships (2013 and 2014) and was a three-time USILA All-American. He was a three-time All-ACC selection and captained the Blue Devils in 2016.
Class holds the Duke midfielder single-season record for goals (50) and is one of just six men’s lacrosse midfielders in NCAA history to score that many goals in a season. He finished his collegiate career with 201 points to rank fifth among Duke midfielders; 12th all-time for the Blue Devils. His 134 career-goals were ranked tied for ninth in Duke history.
Class was named to the 2016 CoSIDA Academic All-American at-large third team. He was also a 2016 USILA Academic All-American and was a four-time choice for the All-ACC Academic Team and the ACC’s Academic Honor Roll.
After his collegiate career, Class was selected by the Atlanta Blaze of Major League Lacrosse in the second round of the 2016 draft. As a rookie, he played in six games and recorded 13 points and seven ground balls. Trades took Class to the Charlotte Hounds, the Chesapeake Bayhawks, and back to the Blaze. In 2018, he set a franchise record and led the MLL in two-point goals with five. He scored 30 points to rank second on the team.
Class is a co-founder of RBDC Lacrosse, a venture started with his business partner Ryan Brown. RBDC conducts clinics, small group training, private training, and remote coaching with a focus on the art of shooting.
Class graduated from Duke with a bachelor of science in sociology in 2016 and was named one of the Blue Devils’ two ACC Senior Scholar-Athletes of the Year.
