Mike Gvozden

NCAA champion goaltender Mike Gvozden is in his second season (2020) as the volunteer assistant coach for the Women of Troy.
Gvozden previously served as the Loyola Marymount men’s club lacrosse head coach.
As a player, Gvozden was a three-year starter at Johns Hopkins and was a member of the 2007 NCAA champion Blue Jays men’s lacrosse squad. Gvozden was named to the NCAA’s all-tournament team following a 2008 national runner-up finish. While at Hopkins, Gvozden appeared in 44 games with 40 starts and logged over 2,290 minutes in goal. He ended his collegiate career with 419 saves, a .559 save percentage, an 8.66 goals-against average, and 100 ground balls. Gvozden produced six games of 15 saves or more including his career high of 20 saves against No. 3-ranked Syracuse in the NCAA tournament (May 26, 2008).
Gvozden is a two-time High School All-American and was named the 2005 Maryland Goalie of the Year while at Severna Park High School in Millersville, Md.
Gvozden and his brother Andrew are the co-founders and primary coaches of Goaliesmith, a nationwide training resource for goalies and goalie coaches. He is a dual citizen of the United States and of Brazil. Gvozden holds a psychology degree from Johns Hopkins where he graduated in 2010.
