THIS SEASON: Sarah Young, a 2008 senior, continues to lend freestyle depth in her second year with the team.
2007: Young competed in the sprint free for the Women of Troy as a 2007 junior in her first year with the squad.
HIGH SCHOOL: Young prepped at St. Francis High in Sacramento, Calif., where she was a two-year team captain as a junior (2002) and senior (2003) on both the women's swimming and volleyball teams ... As a swimmer, she was a section finalist in the 50y and 100y free ... She earned All-League honors as a setter in volleyball in 2002 and 2003 and helped her team to three section titles (2000, 2001, 2003) ... She was her school's valedictorian in 2004 and maintained a 4.0 GPA (or better) each year in school.
PERSONAL: She was born on April 14, 1986 ... She is majoring in health promotion, disease prevention and plans to go to medical school.
CLUB: Placerville Gold Aquatics.
