2017-18 SEASON: Madison Westby enters her senior season at USC.
2016-17 SEASON: Madison Westby finished her junior campaign earning ITA Scholar-Athlete honors while being a member of USC’s ITA All-Academic Team…Selected to the Pac-12 All-Academic Second Team…Finished the season 24-13 in singles and went 14-9 in dual matches…Played primarily in the No. 5 position (8-3)…Also played No. 4 (5-5), No. 3 (1-0) and No. 2 (0-1)…Had two clinching wins: Utah and Washington State in the First Round of the Pac-12 Championships…In doubles, went 12-7 overall and 8-4 in dual matches with partner Angela Kulikov…Played in the No. 3 position (8-4)…Also partnered with Zoë Katz (5-3), Gabby Smith (0-2) and Rianna Valdes (1-1)…In the Fall, Westby went undefeataed at the UNLV Invitational in singles winning her respective draw and won the Jack Kramer Doubles Championship with partner Zoë Katz…Also competed in the ITA All-American Championships and the National Collegiate Tennis Classic…Entered the season ranked No. 88 in the nation in singles.
2015-16 SEASON: Westby finished her sophomore season ranked No. 124 in the nation in singles and No. 81 in doubles with her partner Zoë Katz…Named an All-Pac-12 honorable mention…Earned placement on the ITA All-Academic Team as well as ITA Scholar Athlete honors…Selected as a Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention… Went 14-14 overall in singles, going 8-7 in dual matches…Played primarily at the No. 2 position (6-6)…Also played at No. 3 (2-1)…Had the clinching win in three dual matches (San Francisco, Washington State, Colorado)…In doubles, went 16-8 overall with a 10-3 mark in dual matches…Was 11-5 overall and 8-2 in dual matches with Zoë Katz…Also went 10-3 overall and 2-1 in dual matches with Rianna Valdes…In the fall, competed in the Battle of the Bay, Riviera/ITA All-American Championships, ITA Southwest Regional, Jack Kramer Invitational and the National Collegiate Tennis Classic…Entered her sophomore season ranked No. 36 in the nation in singles in the ITA pre-season rankings and No. 30 in the doubles ITA pre-season rankings with Zoë Katz.
2014-15 SEASON: Westby finished her freshman season ranked No. 53 in the nation in singles... Named the Pac-12 Freshman of the Year and ITA Southwest Regional Rookie of the Year... Reached the NCAA Singles Round of 32... Went 2-1 in singles at the No. 4 position and 2-1 in doubles at the No. 3 spot with Gabby Smith during the NCAA Team Tournament... Went 25-11 overall in singles, going 17-5 in dual matches... Played primarily at the No. 4 position (8-3)... Also played at No. 2 (0-1), No. 3 (4-0), No. 5 (3-1) and No. 6 (2-0)... Had the clinching singles win in seven dual matches... In doubles, went 20-11 overall with a 16-6 mark in dual matches... Was 16-9 overall and 15-6 in dual matches with Smith... HIGH SCHOOL: Westby was a four-time Oklahoma state champion at Bishop Kelley High in Tulsa, Okla... A two-time Tulsa World Player of the Year, she ranked highest at No. 13 in the nation... Reached the doubles final of the Easter Bowl... Also won the singles title at an ITA international event in Waco, Texas, and was a singles and doubles champion at a USTA event in St. Louis... Named 2013 Missouri Valley Player of the Year... Earned one Silver Ball by placing second at nationals in doubles... An honor student.
PERSONAL: Madison Lynne Westby was born April 2, 1996 in Tulsa, Okla.... Daughter of Mark and Leslie... Has three brothers, Taylor, Briggs and Chase... Enjoys spending time with her family in her free time, especially her family trips to Africa... Lists Giuliana Olmos as her biggest sports hero... Has always wanted to skydive... Hopes to travel to Dubai... Would like to travel the world after graduation... Majoring in communication and hopes to pursue a career in broadcast journalism.
