2019-20 SEASON: Sydney Van Alphen enters her senior season at USC.
2018-19 SEASON: Sydney Van Alphen finished her junior season 8-4 in singles and 6-1 in dual matches…Played at the No. 6 spot (4-1) and the No. 5 spot (2-0)…Clinched two matches for the Women of Troy against San Diego and Oregon…In doubles, went 2-1 overall and 0-1 in dual matches…Held a 2-0 record with partner Alexa Corcoleotes and an 0-1 record with Angela Kulikov…In the fall, reached the Round of 16 at the Jack Kramer Invitational and competed in the Women of Troy Invitational.
2017-18 SEASON: Van Alphen finished her sophomore season 5-8 in singles and 0-4 in dual matches...Played at the No. 5 (0-2) and No. 6 (0-2) slots...In doubles, went 4-5 overall and 0-2 in dual matches with Gabby Smith at the No. 2 position...Also paired with Becca Weissmann (3-2) and Constance Branstine (1-1)...In the Fall, Van Alphen competed in the USTA Pro Circuit, USC-UGA Challenge, ITA Southwest Regionals and Roberta Alison Fall Classic.
2016-17 SEASON: Van Alphen concluded her freshman season after enrolling early to compete in the 2017 spring season…Member of USC’s ITA All-Academic Team…Went 7-7 overall and 5-6 in dual matches in singles…Played primarily in the No. 6 position (5-5)…Also played at the No. 5 spot (0-1)…Had two clinchers against UC Santa Barbara and Washington State…In doubles, went 0-3 with partner Angela Kulikov and 0-1 with partner Jessica Failla.
HIGH SCHOOL: Van Alphen was the No. 1 ranked girls 18's player in Southern California as of August 2016...Was ranked No. 13 nationally in the girls 18's age group as of June 2016...Won the championship title at both the girls 18's singles USTA Matador Junior Open and the Girl's 18's USTA Regional Championships Las Vegas in 2015...Was a finalist at the 18's singles USTA National Selection Irvine in 2015...In 2016, was named the champion of the Women's Open Glendora, as well as being a finalist at the Oracle ITA Junior Master's Qualifier and the Girl's 18's USTA National Selection Alpine...Placed third in the 2016 USTA Girls 18's National Team Championships and fourth in the 2016 Girls 18's Southern California Sectional Championships...In 2014, she lived in Belgium, where her father was born, for six months. While abroad, she had the opportunity to play in multiple ITF competitions, including the Doubles ITF Heiveld, where she was a finalist.
