Eric Barber is in his first season (2018) as the volunteer assistant coach for the Women of Troy.
Previously, Barber spent two years at Washington where he was the volunteer assistant coach for the beach program in 2018 and served as the graduate manager for the indoor team in 2016 and ’17.
Barber’s duties for the indoor team included DataVolley input and analysis; and preparation of scouting reports. He was on staff when the Huskies won the 2016 Pac-12 title and advanced to the NCAA regional final.
On the sand, he assisted with scouting, player development, and practice planning and was on staff for the Huskies’ third and fourth-place finishes in the Pac-12. While at Washington, Barber completed his master’s degree in civil engineering.
As a collegiate athlete himself, Barber played outside hitter at UC San Diego where he was an MPSF All-Academic selection in 2014. He holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental systems with a minor in political science from UCSD.
A native of Santa Monica, Calif., Barber prepped at Santa Monica High School and was an All-CIF first-team selection. He served as an assistant coach at La Jolla High School for both the boys’ and girls’ varsity teams from 2014-16.
