Women's Basketball Wins Exhibition Opener, 79-67

LOS ANGELES ? Led by senior forward Danielle Golay?s 18 points and junior center Denise Woods? 15 points, the USC women?s basketball team won its exhibition opener over SBC Hanacka Kyselka Prerov, 79-67, on Monday (Nov. 15) in front of 452 at the Lyon Center.
The Women of Troy also got 13 points from sophomore guard Tiffany Elmore and 11 points from sophomore forward Tashara Carter. USC outrebounded its opponent, 38-26, and forced 27 turnovers.
Senior guard Erica Mashia, who has been out for three seasons with hip and knee injuries, made her return to the court on Monday. She played 15 minutes off the bench and scored five points.
SBC Prerov was led by Leona Krystofova?s 15 points. USC plays its final exhibition game on Wednesday night at the Lyon Center at 7 p.m. against the New Zealand National team.
