Men's Golf at NCAA Regionals

TEMPE, Ariz. -- Arizona State, led by the consistent play of freshman Paul Casey who won the NCAA West Regional crown, tied for first with New Mexico in the NCAA Men's Golf West Regional held at the Karsten Golf Course on the campus of Arizona State University.
The Devils shot a par 288, while the Lobos shot a six-under 282 to force the first place tie in final-round play.
Arizona State (-6) and New Mexico (-6), along with UNLV (-3), California (+10), Arizona (+10), Oregon (+11), UCLA (+12), Fresno State (+13) and UC-Santa Barbara (+15) advance to the NCAA Championships in two weeks in Albuquerque, N.M.
New Mexico, who will be hosting the NCAA Championships in two weeks, shot a stellar six under to force the tie for first. The Lobos had three -- La Belle (-3), junior D.J. Brigman (-2) and freshman Robert Kortan (-2) -- players shoot under par and a fourth, senior Greg Robertson, shoot one over.
The remaining nine teams in order of finish were Colorado State (+16), Washington (+22), Brigham Young (+24), Nevada (+26), New Mexico State (+27), Pacific (+29), UC-Irvine (+32), Texas El Paso (+35) and Southern California (+39).
