LOS ANGELES--Volleyball players Miles McGann of Laguna Beach (Calif.) High and Mark Dusharme of Bonita Vista High in Chula Vista (Calif.) have signed national letters of intent with USC, Trojan head coach Pat Powers announced today.
Both McGann, a 6-5 setter, and Dusharme, a 6-7 middle blocker, are members of the USA Youth National Team.
McGann, who brother, Grant, played on USC's water polo team last year, was an All-CIF Division I first teamer and Orange County Register All-Orange County second teamer in 1998, after earning All-CIF Division III first team honors in 1997. Dusharme was a 1998 All-CIF San Diego Section pick.
"Miles has the sweetest hands I've seen on a setter this year," said Powers. "He's the prototype big, tall setter. Mark was on every college's shopping list. He has a great arm swing, he has size and speed, and he has an outstanding work ethic. He'll be the best player to come out of the high school level in 1999."
