Men's Volleyball Splits Matches at IPFW Spring Fling

LOS ANGELES - The USC men's volleyball team spent its spring break by going 1-1 in the IPFW Spring Fling in Fort Wayne, Ind., beating Ball State 15-11, 15-8, 8-15, 10-15, 15-10 and then falling to No. 6 Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne, the tourney's host, 15-13, 10-15, 13-15, 10-15.
Against Ball State, Brook Billings had 28 kills and a career-best 15 digs, while Omar Rawi and Eli Fairfield had 19 kills (Rawi hit .640 and had 9 blocks, while Fairfield had 10 digs).
Billings had a match-high 32 kills against IPFW (he added 11 digs), while Donald Suxho had 11 blocks.
USC, which is 10-8 overall and 7-6 in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation, hosts Division III foe La Verne in a non-league match on Wednesday (March 24) before resuming MPSF play at Long Beach State on Saturday (March 27).
