Trojans Down Pepperdine in MPSF First Round

MALIBU, Calif. - The USC men's volleyball team, behind freshman Brook Billings' 36 kills, won its first postseason match since 1994 with a 15-9, 11-15, 15-9, 15-6 win at Pepperdine on Saturday in the MPSF Tournament first round.
The Trojans (16-10) will now move on to play Long Beach State on Thursday in Provo, Utah. Host BYU and Hawaii meet in the other semifinal, with the winners playing for the championship on Saturday.
Billings also had a hitting percentage of .526 and added 11 digs. Sophomore Eli Fairfield had 14 kills and 11 digs, sophomore Trevor Julian had 14 kills and 10 digs and junior Donald Suxho had 79 assists.
As a team, the Trojans hit .351 to the Waves' .196.
USC ended an 11-match losing streak to Pepperdine and won for the first time in Malibu since 1991.
