Volleyball Ends Season with Loss to Long Beach State

LONG BEACH, Calif. - The season came to an end for the USC men's volleyball team on Tuesday night as the Trojans lost to Long Beach State, 15-9, 15-12, 15-13, at the Gold Mine in MPSF play.
USC (11-15 overall) was battling for the final MPSF Tournament playoff spot, but coupled with UC Santa Barbara's defeat of Cal State Northridge, the Trojans will be staying home. USC had a conference record of 7-12, one game behind UC Santa Barbara and Loyola Marymount.
Senior middle blocker Szilard Kovacs, playing his final match, led the Trojans with 16 kills and five blocks. Freshman outside hitters Craig Dennis and Eli Fairfield had 15 and 14 kills, respectively. Sophomore setter Donald Suxho had 56 assists and seven digs.
USC hit just .207 as a team compared to Long Beach State's .357.
