Women's Swimming Signs Parmenter

LOS ANGELES - Seven-time U.S. National champion Jennifer Parmenter from Granada Hills (Calif.) High has signed a letter of intent with USC, swim coach Mark Schubert announced today.
The 5-7 Parmenter, from Granada Hills, Calif., is the ninth-fastest American woman ever in the 400m IM and the 15th-fastest in the 200m IM. She has qualified in every event, except two, for the U.S. Nationals.
Parmenter swept the medley events at the 1997 U.S. Spring Nationals, the 1996 U.S. Summer Nationals and the 1995 U.S. Spring Nationals. She also won the 400m free at the 1996 U.S. Summer Nationals. She just missed qualifying for the Olympics in 1996, finishing third in the 400m IM.
