Women's Rowing Displays Strength at Trojan Erg Sprints

Los Angeles, CA -- The USC women's rowing team made a strong showing at their own Trojan Erg Sprints on Saturday, Feb. 12, at the Lyon Center. As a team, the Women of Troy finished in first place with a final time of 7:51.2. UC Santa Barbara posted a second-place finish in 7:53.1, while San Diego finished seven seconds behind the Trojans (7:58.4), for third place.
In the Novice division, freshman Zoe Hoskins posted the fastest time, completing the course in 6:55.9. Her final time was also the fastest overall throughout the event. In the Open division, San Diego's Ali Cox placed first with a time of 6:56.4. USC had four of the top-five finishers: Alzbeta Lorinczova (6:56.4), Rebecca Moneymaker (7:11.6) and Amelia White (7:13.8).
The Women of Troy's next competition will be on Sunday, Feb. 20, at the C.R.A.S.H.-B World Indoor Rowing Championships in Boston, Mass. The event will be held at the Reggie Lewis Track and Field Center.
