Men's Tennis Suffers 5-2 Loss At Stanford

STANFORD, Calif. - The USC men's tennis team endured a 5-2 loss at fourth-ranked Stanford, Saturday afternoon at the Taube Family Tennis Stadium. With the loss, the Trojans fall to 13-7 overall 3-2 in the Pac-10, while the Cardinal moved one step closer to the claiming the conference championship.
The Cardinal duo of top-ranked Geoff Abrams and Alex Kim began the match with an 8-4 win over fourth-ranked Ryan Moore and Nicholas Rainey. Stanford ensured the doubles point by also claiming the No. 2 and 3 doubles matches.
USC picked up its two points on a three-set win by freshman Daniel Langre at No. 3 singles and a straight set victory by sophomore Andrew Park at No. 4. Langre beat Hippensteel, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3, and Park defeated Scotty Scott, 6-3, 6-3. Stanford's win at No. 5 clinched the match victory for the Cardinal.
USC returns to action with two more Pac-10 matches on the road. The Trojans travel to Washington on Friday (April 14) and Oregon on Saturday (April 15).
