Los Angeles -- The USC women's rowing varsity eight boat received an invitation to the 2000 NCAA championship, the NCAA announced on Tuesday. Ten teams and nine individual boats from unrepresented teams were selected to compete in the rowing championship to be held at Cooper River Park in Camden County, N.J., May 26-28. The University of Pennsylvania and the Eastern College Athletic Conference will host the event.
USC will be making its third appearance in the postseason competition, and the second straight for the varsity eights. In 1998, the USC's varsity four boat captured the national title for the Women of Troy.
