Baseball Beats Santa Clara 6-2

LOS ANGELES -- Seth Davidson and Bill Peavey homered Tuesday to lead the USC Trojans to a 6-2 non-conference win over the Santa Clara Broncos at Dedeaux Field. The Trojans (31-18) have now won four of their last five games.
Santa Clara (17-35) led off the game with two runs in the first on an RBI triple by Jack Headley and an RBI double by Matt Queen. The Trojans answered with a two-run homer by Davidson, his third of the season, to right field. USC took the lead in the fifth on RBI doubles by Brian Barre and Justin Gemoll. Peavey solidified the lead with a solo shot to right in the sixth, his third of the season.
Ronald Flores (4-1) allowed two runs on five hits in 6 and 1/3 innings of work. Flores struck out five. Joe Diefenderfer (1-8) picked up the loss in relief.
USC will not play this weekend due to finals. The Trojans return to action on Wednesday (May 10) when they play a makeup game (from the rained out March 5 game) at Cal State Fullerton at 7 p.m.
