Seven Trojans Selected In Baseball's Major League Draft

LOS ANGELES -- Seven players from the 2002 USC baseball team were selected in the major league baseball draft on Tuesday (June 4). Senior first baseman Bill Peavey was the first Trojan selected, going in the 11th round with the Cleveland Indians.
Also selected in the draft were Anthony Reyes (13th round, Detroit Tigers), Brian Barre (13th, Colorado Rockies), Chad Clark (17th, St. Louis Cardinals), Alberto Concepcion (21st, Boston Red Sox), Matt Bonovich (27th, Montreal Expos) and Brian Bannister (45th, Boston Red Sox).
The Trojans finished the 2002 season with a 37-24 record and their second straight Pac-10 Conference championship.
