Hoskins And Berg Advance At ITAs

MALIBU, Calif. - Drew Hoskins and Johan Berg moved into the main draw singles quarterfinals with two victories apiece on Friday, Oct. 22, at the Wilson/ITA West Regional Championships on the Pepperdine campus in Malibu.
The eighth-seeded Hoskins defeated Rob Blair of San Diego, 3-6, 7-6, 6-3, and Olof Sjolund of UC Irvine, 6-2, 6-2, while the fifth-seeded Berg got past Christian Groh of San Diego State, 6-1, 7-5, and Jeremy Drean of UCLA, 7-6, 6-1.
USC eliminated itself in doubles when the duo of Hoskins and Adam Loucks had to face teammates Kaes Van't Hof and Brian Wright in Friday's quarterfinal. Hoskins and Loucks, seeded fourth in the tourney, prevailed with a 9-8 win in a closely contested match.
Wright, who moved into the consolation singles bracket after falling in the main draw opener, captured three matches on Friday to move into the consolation quarterfinals.
