TEMPE, Ariz. - Manya Makoski's goal in the 55th minute provide the only scoring Sunday as the Arizona State Sun Devils defeated the USC Trojans, 1-0, in Pacific-10 Conference action.
ASU improves to 8-8-1 on the season and 4-2-1 in Pac-10 play while USC falls to 9-8-1 overall and 3-5 in conference.
It was an evenly-played match as attested by both teams recorded 10 shots.
Makoski scored from five yards in front after the Women of Troy could not clear the ball. Makoski fired a low line drive into the lower left corner of the goal, thanks to an assist from teammate Holly Azevedo.
USC will host UCLA on Sunday (Nov. 7) in a 1 p.m. match at McAlister Field. The match will be televised on FOX Sports Net.
