LOS ANGELES -- The Big Ten announced its women's soccer postseason awards on Tuesday (Nov. 3) and USC's Josie Biehl was named to the conference's All-Freshman Team as the top rookie keeper in the league.
USC's Lily Biddulph was also recognized as the Trojans' recipient of the Big Ten Sportsmanship award.Â
Biehl took over the starting role as USC's keeper early in the year and proved herself more than up to the task, recording 79 total saves, the most by a USC keeper since Sammy Jo Prudhomme (106) in 2016. Biehl started 17 of the Trojans' 18 games, recording three shutouts and the fifth most saves per game in the conference with 4.39.
The conference recognized 11 players on the All-Freshman squad, with Biehl being the lone goalkeeper honored.
Biddulph appeared in all 18 games this season for USC, with the junior making 14 starts and seeing time as both a forward and defender. She scored three goals and was third on the team with six points.
