RIVERSIDE, CALIF. - Sophomore outside hitter Shamsu Awudu (Accra, Ghana/West Africa Secondary School) had 20 kills and senior opposite hitter Shaun Dyk (Mooresville, NC/Mooresville HS/North Carolina State) added 18 kills and four service aces, leading CBU to a 30-25, 28-30, 30-22, 30-22 victory over USC at Van Dyne Gymnasium.
CBU (7-2) also received a strong performance from freshman Corey Spence (Kihei, HI/Seabury Hall HS). Spence, who entered the match with four kills on the season, took advantage of his first collegiate start to record 10 kills.
