Princeton- The USC Women's Rowing team finished out a strong 2005 season against top-ranked Princeton and No. 10 Virginia at the Tiger's home course at Lake Carnegie despite having to change out USC's stroke position at the last minute. Simone Manhold suffered from food poisioning causing Sara Pomeroy to double as stroke for both the Varsity Eight and JV Eight. The Women of Troy put up an impressive fight against the undefeated Tigers, and are primed to enter Pac-10 competition next week.
The Trojans Varsity Eight finished in 6:33.1, behind Princeton (6:25.2) and Virginia (6:27.5). The Varsity Four came in just under four seconds behind Virginia with a 7:20.4 and over 25 seconds ahead of Princeton, who clocked a 7:45.8.
The Women of Troy will now focus their efforts on clinching a Pac-10 title on May 15 at Lake Natoma in Sacramento.
