
Jamil Al-Agba Wins NCAA Singles First Round Match

No. 19-ranked Jamil Al-Agba of USC defeated No. 64 Nathan Thompson of Clemson, 7-5, 2-6, 7-5, in a first round match of the 2005 NCAA Men's Division I Tennis Singles Championships at Texas A&M's George P. Mitchell Tennis Center on Wednesday (May 25).
Al-Agba next plays No. 2 Benedikt Dorsch of Baylor in a second round singles match on Thursday (May 26). Dorsch was a 6-3, 6-1 winner over No. 80 Mark Barry of Penn State in the first round.
Also on Thursday, Al-Agba will team with Johan Berg in a first round match of the NCAA Doubles tourney. The duo, ranked No. 35, face No. 36 Niels Buksik and Sandy Farquharson of Texas-Arlington.
