
Al-Agba And Berg Win In NCAA Doubles First Round

USC's Jamil Al-Agba and Johan Berg won their first round doubles match at the 2005 NCAA Men's Division I Tennis Championships at Texas A&M's George P. Mitchell Tennis Center on Thursday (May 26), although Al-Agba lost in the second round of the singles tourney.
Al-Agba and Berg, ranked No. 35, defeated No. 36 Niels Buksik and Sandy Farquharson of Texas-Arlington, 6-2, 6-3. They next face No. 30 Jonathan Chu and Ashwin Kumar of Harvard in a second round match on Friday (May 27). Chu and Kumar were 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 upset winners over No. 9 Ockie Oosthuizen and Ben Rogers of Tennessee on Thursday.
In singles, No. 19 Al-Agba fell to top-seeded and No. 2-ranked Benedikt Dorsch of Baylor, 6-4, 6-0.
Rain delayed play throughout the day on Thursday.
