
Manhold, Varekova Earn All-Pac-10 Rowing Honors

WAlNUT CREEK, Calif. - USC sophomore rowers Simone Manhold and Barbora Varekova have been named to the 2005 All-Pac-10 Team, the first such honor for both.
Both rowers were members of USC's nationally-ranked Varsity Eight boat this season, leading the boat to a seventh straight appearance at the NCAA Championships and the Trojans' first-ever team bid.
The Women of Troy finished 11th as a team and the Varsity Eight boat placed 10th at the NCAA championships on May 29.
In 2004, Manhold was named to the CRCA All-American second team in just her first season as a Trojan.
The Pac-10 named California's Steve Gladstone the Rowing Coach of the Year, the second year in a row the Coach of the Year is a Golden Bear. The Women's Newcomer of the Year is California freshman Mara Allen.
