Sophomore Jamie Lovemark is among a three-way tie for first, as is the No. 6 USC men's golf team after the first round of the Isleworth-UCF Collegiate Invitational at the Isleworth C.C. in Windermere, Fla., on Sunday (Oct. 21).
USC, Oklahoma State and host Central Florida also posted 4-under 284s to share the first-round lead on a day where lightning delayed the finish of first round action.
Lovemark fired a 4-under 68, carding three birdies on both the front and back nine to lock up his first sub-70 round of the young season.
Freshman Tim Sluiter is also under par, tied for 11th, after a 2-under 70. He put together four birdies (on the 8th, 9th, 11th and 14th holes) to more than compensate for two bogeys in the round.
Junior Tom Glissmeyer and sophomore Rory Hie are tied for 34th after each turned in a 1-over 73. Glissmeyer was among the leaders after four birdies and two bogeys through 17 holes, but a triple-bogey on the 18th hole dropped him down the leaderboard. Hie had a fairly consistent round with bogeys on 4 and 12 and a birdie on 14.
Freshman Gavin Ried rounded out USC's quintet, tied for 72nd at 5-over 77.
The invitational continues Monday and Tuesday.
