
Hentzen Wins Twice In Loss to Arizona State

Senior Whitney Hentzen won the 1000y and 500y freestyle events, but the No. 15 Women of Troy swimming and diving team fell to Arizona State 141-158 in Tempe, Arizona on Saturday (Nov. 10).
USC dropped to 2-2 overall, 1-2 in the Pac-10.
The Women of Troy swept the 1000y freestyle event with Hentzen posting a season-best time of 10:01.24. Senior Brittany Allen followed with a second place finish of 10:14.00 and Ellie Doran took placed third with a time of 10:20.99.
USC also swept the 500y freestyle with Hentzen placing first with a time of 4:53.49, Allen followed with a time of 4:57.63 and Doran rounded out the top three with a time of 5:00.0.
Junior Rebecca Soni swept the breastroke events with a time of 1:01.67 in the 100y breastroke and a time of 2:12.15 in the 200y breastroke.
In the 200y IM, Junior Katy Houston took second with an NCAA "B" consideration time of 2:02.02 and Soni placed third with an NCAA "B" consideration time of 2:02.36.
Sophomore Whitney Stephenson took first in the 200y backstroke with a season-best time of 2:02.28.
Senior Diver Kim Popp had a strong day with a first place finish in 1m diving and a second place finish in 3m diving.
Next up the Women of Troy travel to Seattle, Wash. on Nov. 29 for the Husky Invite.
