Trojans Grab More National Honors

Following USC's outstanding run to the 2007 NCAA Women's Soccer Championship, the Trojans continue to garner honors among the nation's best. Most recently, SoccerBuzz divvied out its 2007 awards, including national and regional accolades. USC head coach Ali Khosroshahin has been named the SoccerBuzz National Coach of the Year, as well as the top coach in the West Region. Also earning awards from SoccerBuzz are All-America Second Team picks Ashley Nick and Kristin Olsen, All-America Fourth Team selection Janessa Currier, and Freshman All-Americans Megan Ohai (First Team), Kasey Johnson (Second Team) and Ashli Sandoval (Second Team). All six Women of Troy were also named to SoccerBuzz All-West Region teams, along with Regional Second Team choice Amy Rodriguez, who led the Trojans in scoring in 2007.
All told, Khosroshahin and seven different Women of Troy have been honored with various 2007 awards for their major roles in USC's record-breaking season, which included five shutouts during the NCAA Tournament on the way to a final shutout tally of 15 in the Trojans' 20-3-2 season.
