Sophomores Rory Hie and Jamie Lovemark fired sub-par final-rounds of 70 and 71, respectively, to tie for sixth as the No. 5 USC men's golf team finished with the low round of the day en route to third place during the final round of the PING/Golfweek Preview Tournament at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex on Sunday (Sept. 23) in West Lafayette, Ind.
USC finished with a 9-over 873 (293-293-287), six shots back of first-place Charlotte (867) and two strokes behind second-place Oklahoma State (871).
Hie (75-72-70) and Lovemark (70-76-71) finished with 1-over 217s, eight back of individual winner Stefan Wiedergruen of Charlotte. Hie, who was in the hunt for the individual title during the second round on Saturday before going 6-over on the final two holes, rebounded well with 1-under performances on the front and back 9.
Lovemark, making his 2007-08 USC debut after missing the season-opener while representing the U.S. at the Walker Cup, birdied four times in the final round, including on the 18th hole to go under par for the day.

Glissmeyer tied for 16th with a 4-over 220 (74-73-73). He, too, was under par after the front 9 and eyeing a possible top 10 finish before finishing 2-over on the final four holes.
Freshman Daniel Park, after struggling the first two rounds, rallied with a 1-over 73 on Sunday to tie for 55th at 14-over 230 (78-79-73).
