
USC Rowing Punches Ticket to NCAA Championships

No. 12 USC will travel to the Cooper River in Cherry Hill, NJ to participate in the NCAA Championships May 29-31. The Women of Troy were one of sixteen teams chosen to participate in the team championships. This year the rules changed in that a school must qualify as a team with their varsity eight, second varsity eight and varsity four boats.
USC is coming off a fifth place team victory at the Pac-10 Championships this past weekend, including a second place finish by the varsity four team. The Women of Troy will join fellow Pac-10 squads Stanford, Washington, Oregon State and 2009 Pac-10 Champion California in New Jersey.
In the varsity eight competition, USC is in heat three against Virginia, Michigan, Clemson, Princeton and Dartmouth. That race will take place at 9:15 a.m. on Friday (May 29).
USC has been seeded into heat two for the second varsity eight competition, where they will face California, Stanford, Yale and Princeton at 9:45 a.m. on Friday (May 29).
For the varsity four competition USC has been placed into a heat with Ohio State, Clemson, Wisconsin and Oregon State which will race at 10:30 a.m. on Friday (May 29).
