USC sophomore Victoria Ishimatsu, an All-American as a 2009 freshman, won a silver medal on 1-meter at the 2009 AT&T National Diving Championships on Wednesday (Aug. 12) in Tallahassee, Fla.
Ishimatsu scored a personal-best 303.35 points, just a shade behind first-place Christina Loukas, who won with 308.85. Ishimatsu actually led headed into the final round, round, but Loukas nailed her final dive to establish her own personal best to climb ahead of Ishimatsu.
"Victoria performed flawlessly," said long-time USC head coach Hongping Li.
The U.S. Nationals continue through Aug. 16.
