Former USC great Rebecca Soni added to her medal haul Saturday, winning her second gold by claiming the 100m breast at the 2010 FINA Short Course World Championships in Dubai, UAE.
Soni, who earlier in the meet won the 50m breast and was part of the U.S. silver-medal-winning 4x100 medley relay, led wire-to-wire to claim the 100m breast in 1:03.98. Australian rival Leisel Jones was second (1:04.26) while China's Ji Liping was third (1:04.79).
Trojan junior Katinka Hosszu raced in the final of the 200m IM and finished fourth in 2:06.88.
The meet wraps up Sunday. Among Trojans going, Soni will be the favorite to win her third gold in the 200m breast while Ous Mellouli (Tunisia) will go for his fourth medal in the 1500m free. Trojan sophomore Clement Lefert (France) will swim in the 200m fly.
