The USC men's golf team had a tough first outing to the 2010-2011 season, finishing 15th after the first round of the Ping/Golfweek Preview in Stillwater, Okla., Sunday (Sept. 26).
Sophomores Martin Trainer and Stewart Hagestad tied for 47th at 7-over 79 to lead USC while freshman Jeffrey Kang tied for 56th at 9-over 81. Sophomore Sam Smith is 74th at 20-over 92 while sophomore T.J. Vogel was forced to withdraw from the round.
Host Oklahoma State is in first at 288. The event continues Monday and Tuesday at 8 a.m.
