
USC Men's Volleyball Selected To NCAA Final Four

The USC men's volleyball team has been selected as the at-large qualifier into the 2011 NCAA Championships, the NCAA announced today (May 1).
The Trojans (23-3) will be the top seed and will face fourth-seeded UC Santa Barbara (17-14), the team that upset USC in 5 sets on Saturday (April 30) in the final of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation tournament. The Trojans and Gauchos will meet on Thursday (May 5) at 4 p.m. PT in State College, Pa. , in an NCAA semifinal match that will be shown live on ESPN2 and ESPN3.com (and audiocast live on USCTrojans.com).
The winner will face the winner of Thursday's 6 p.m. PT semifinal between host Penn State (24-6), the second seed, and third seeded Ohio State (24-6).
The championship match will be on Saturday (May 7) at 4 p.m. PT, airing live on ESPN2 and ESPN3.com.
This will be USC's 13th appearance in the NCAA Final Four and the second in the past 3 years. The Trojans have won 4 NCAA titles, most recently in 1990.
This will be the third time that USC enters the NCAA tourney coming off a loss. The Trojans won the NCAA title the first 2 times it happened (1988 and 1990).
USC has its most wins since 1999. The Trojans won the 2011 MPSF regular season title, its first since 2000.
