Trojan junior ports Ivana Filipovic and Maria Wilgotsson, who helped guide USC to one of its top seasons in school history this year, were each selected to the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) 2011 Pocock All-America first team while junior starboard Lenka Vrecnikova was tabbed a second teamer, the organization announced Monday (June 6).
USC got two rowers on the CRCA first team for the second time and for the first since 2007. Filipovic was a second teamer last year.
The Trojans finished fifth at the 2011 NCAA Rowing Championships and had three boats reach the NCAA Grand Final for the first time in school history.
Filipovic, Wilgotsson and Vrecnikova all row on USC's powerful Varsity 8, whose grand final appearance this year was its fifth in program history.
