Jonny Wang Takes Second At ITA Southwest Regionals

MALIBU, CALIF. -- USC senior Jonny Wang's impressive run at the ITA Southwest Regional Championships saw him finish as the singles runner-up after a loss in today's title match in Malibu. Playing in his fourth three-set match of the tournament, Wang came up short in this one. The No. 2 seed in the singles draw was up against the top seed from UCLA, taking a 3-6, 6-2, 6-1 loss to wrap his run as a finalist.
The #39 ranked player in the nation, Wang took on UCLA's #13 Mackenzie McDonald in today's title match. Wang proved a point in taking the first set, but McDonald fired back and managed to take the next two from Wang.
