Trojans Ink Prep Standout Ryan Slater

Ryan Slater, a top prep junior Gilroy, Calif., who has posted multiple 10 finishes in AJGA events, has signed a National Letter of Intent with USC, Trojan Men's Golf Coach Chris Zambri announced Friday.

"Ryan is a very bright and talented golfer who has made steady progress throughout his junior career," Zambri said. "I expect him to continue that trajectory and develop into strong contributor to this team. I know he will be a standout in the classroom as well."

Slater, who preps at Monte Vista Christian High in Gilroy, qualified for the 2014 California State Amateur played at La Costa C.C. He finished fifth at the 2014 NCGA Junior Championship and fourth in the 2014 JGANC/NCGA Players Championship.
