Hannah O'Sullivan, the second-ranked amateur in the world from Chandler, Ariz., and Allisen Corpuz, the No. 24-ranked amateur in the country from Honolulu, Hawaii, have signed national letters of intent with USC, Trojan women's golf head coach Andrea Gaston announced Thursday (Nov. 12).
"We are very excited to have signed two incredible players to our top-ranked women's golf program," said Gaston, who has led top-ranked USC to three NCAA titles, four NCAA runner-up finishes and 10 Top 4 results in the past 19 seasons. "Both Hannah and Allisen bring years of competitive experience at the national and international level and will add even more depth to our already extremely talented team.
"They also are both outstanding in the classroom and will keep us battling to be the top academic team in our athletic department! Both players are welcoming the opportunity to be a part of an elite golf program and I'm looking forward to having them continue our tradition of competing for and winning Pac-12 and NCAA Championships."
O'Sullivan, a senior at Hamilton High in Chandler, Ariz., is the 2015 Rolex Junior Player of the Year. She won the 2015 U.S. Women's Amateur in August and, in May, teamed with current Trojan freshman Robynn Ree to finish second in the inaugural U.S. Women's Amateur Four-Ball. She became the youngest winner ever of a Symetra Tour event when she, as a 16-year-old junior, won the professional circuit's season-opening Gateway Classic in February. She is a 2015 AJGA All-American first teamer, earned 2013 and 2014 second team honors and was a third teamer in 2012. She was a 2014 U.S. Women's Amateur semifinalist.
O'Sullivan, a 2015 AJGA Scholastic Junior All-American, captured the 2015 AJGA's Rolex Tournament of Champions and the 2015 Rolex Girls Junior Championship, becoming just the third girl ever to win both AJGA Rolex majors in the same year. She helped the U.S. win the 2015 PING Junior Solheim Cup and the 2014 Junior Ryder Cup. She also competed on the `West' team in the 2013, 2014, 2015 AJGA Wyndham Cup and won Arizona high school titles in 2012 and 2013.
Corpuz, a senior at Punahou School in Honolulu, is a three-time AJGA All-American and was the youngest ever competitor in a USGA Championship when she played at the 2008 Women's Amateur Public Links at the age of 10 years, 3 months. She has played in six USGA Championships in all, the second most ever, and has posted nine top 10 finishes in AJGA majors to go with 15 Top 5 AJGA results. She won the 2014 Hawaii State Open, represented Hawaii in the 2014 Asia Pacific Junior Cup and represented the `West' team at 2012 AJGA Wyndham Cup.
