GAME NOTES
- The Trojans fall to 0-3 against Northwestern in the teams' all-time series history.
- USC goes to 1-2 in games played at the LA Memorial Coliseum.
- The Trojans' 7-0 lead to open the game is the program's largest ever over a ranked opponent.
- The Women of Troy held Northwestern scoreless for the first 26:31 of the game. It is the third longest length of time that USC has shut out an opponent during a game. (36:18 vs. Fresno State, April 20, 2013; and 27:01 vs. Presbyterian, Feb. 15, 2013).
- USC played in just its third overtime game and fell to 0-3 in those games. The last time the Trojans went to overtime, it also resulted in a 12-11 loss (at Colorado, April 11, 2014).
- The Women of Troy fell by a single goal for the second consecutive game. USC lost, 7-6, to Oregon in its final game of 2014 (MPSF tournament quarterfinals).
- The Trojans won the battle for draw controls (16-11), ground balls (12-9), and saves (6-3).
- Junior attacker Caroline de Lyra led the team with four goals and had five points in the game.
- Seven different Trojans scored including de Lyra: Amanda Johansen (2), and one goal each for Kaila Sommi, Kylie Drexel, Cynthia Del Core, Caroline Cordrey, and Shannon Nugent.
- Freshman goalie Gussie Johns became the second netminder in program history to start in her first collegiate game (Liz Shaeffer, 2013).
- Sophomore attacker Michaela Michael led the team with seven draw controls. Johansen had six.
- Johns led the team with five ground balls while senior defender Elizabeth Eddy had three to go with a game-high three caused turnovers.
