Nick Crystal Reaches Cajun Classic Title Match

LAFAYETTE, LA. — Nick Crystal opened his junior season with an impressive run at the Cajun Tennis Classic in Lafayette, La. The #42 Crystal pinned up two straight-set wins to start the season and then pulled a three-setter an another tight victory to secure a spot in the singles championship match today. There, Crystal went three rounds again, falling to LSU's Jordan Dangle 6-3, 1-6, 6-2 to wrap up a second-place finish at the event.
Crystal was competing alongside teammates Max de Vroome and Thibault Forget, teaming up with de Vroome in doubles for a journey to the quarterfinals, where the Trojan duo lost a close one. In singles, #61 de Vroome punched up back-to-back three-set wins to move into the quarters, where he'd fall to eventual champ Daigle 7-5, 6-4. Forget, meanwhile, lost in his opener to his #44 opponent, Stefan Lindmark of Ole Miss to move into consolation play.
