Trojans Loaded Up For SoCal Intercollegiate Semifinals

LOS ANGELES, CALIF. — The USC men's tennis team is guaranteed to play in at least one championship bout at the Southern California Intercollegiate Championships thanks to an onslaught of Trojans scoring semifinal berths at the event, held this year at USC's own Marks Stadium.
On the singles side. it will be an all-Trojan semifinal clash when No. 4 seeded Thibault Forget faces off against No. 2 seeded Brandon Holt after both Trojans scored three wins apiece in the singles draw. It could be an all-Trojans final as well, as No. 3 seeded senior Nick Crystal is lined up for a semifinal bout against UCLA Max Cressy at the other end of the bracket. Both semis are set for 11 a.m. tomorrow (Oct. 30) at Marks Stadium in a battle t play in Monday's title match also at 11 a.m.
In the doubles draw, a couple wins apiece from two USC tandems — No. 3 seeded Rob Bellamy / Thibault Forget and No. 2 seeded freshmen Brandon Holt / Riley Smith — could present a USC dominated doubles title match if each team is able to ring up a respective victory tomorrow (Oct. 30). Relative veterans Bellamy/Forget are up against Texas Tech's Sendegeya/Thomson at one end of the bracket, while Holt/R. Smith face LMU's Bohuslav/Brown in tomorrow 2 p.m doubles semifinals.
