TULSA, OKLA. — The No. 15 USC men's tennis team made itself right at home on the courts of the site of this year's NCAA Championships, shutting down host Tulsa with a 7-0 sweep today. The Trojans ripped through the No. 26 Golden Hurricane in notching their first shutout since the start of the season. USC is now 8-3 overall on the year.

In doubles action, USC's senior-freshman combo pack of Max de Vroome and Jake DeVine maneuvered out to the first win of the day with a 6-2 victory on court two. Newly tabbed as the #74 doubles duo in the nation, junior Nick Crystal and freshman Laurens Verboten served up a 6-3 win on court one, and the Trojans had a 1-0 lead on the board.

Crystal stayed the course in singles, coming through with a solid win on court two as the #35 junior whipped up a 6-0, 6-2 win over Tulsa's Carlos Bautista to make it 2-0. Crystal's doubles partner Verboten followed suit, staying clicked in with his elder teammate in locking in a 6-3, 6-4 win over Dmoinia Bechard on court six. That put USC a win away from clinching, and #32 de Vroome was up to the challenge. After a tight first set, the senior got in a groove in the second and pounded out a 7-6, 6-1 win over Tulsa's top gun, #39 Or Ram-Harel, at the No. 1 spot. That clinched it a 4-0 for the Trojans, but USC was not done.

Freshman #113 DeVine had a three-setter on his hands on court three, and he'd manufacture a 6-2, 1-6, 6-4 victory over Juan Matias Gonzalez to put USC up 5-0. USC's #91 Thibault Forget kept his win streak intact with a 4-6, 6-0, 1-0 (10-7) win on court five over Majed Kilani, marking down Forget's eighth consecutive singles victory. The final word of the day was issued by #40 Logan Smith, who was entrenched in a three-setter and looking to finish off a comeback move. The freshman tacked up a 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 win on court four over Tulsa's Dylan McCloskey, and USC was in the books with a 7-0 shutout of the Golden Hurricane.

USC's next action takes the Trojans to Indian Wells for a couple matches in the BNP Paribas Collegiate Challenge by Oracle. USC will face Oklahoma at 1 p.m. on March 19 before taking on Baylor at 10 a.m. on March 20.
