
No. 12 USC Finishes Fifth at Pac-12 Championships

GOLD RIVER, Calif. -- The 12th-ranked USC women's rowing team took fifth place in the final team standings at the 2016 Pac-12 Rowing Championships at the Nimbus Dam Reservoir on Sunday, May 15. The Women of Troy finished third in the varsity eight final but were fourth in the varsity four, sixth in the third varsity eight, and seventh in the second varsity eight finals.
USC completed the day with 22 points. California won its eighth crown in the last nine years and its 10th Pac-12 championship overall.
The Trojans' varsity eight took third in its final by less than one tenth of a second as they edged Washington's eight by a time of 6:29.825 to 6:29.905. California won the race with a time of 6:22.033 to beat out Stanford (6:22.916). The Golden Bears also won the varsity four and second varsity eight titles and finished second in the third varsity eight.
USC now awaits its postseason future and selection into the NCAA championship field. The NCAA will announce its selections on Tuesday, May 17, at 5 p.m. PT on NCAA.com.
